Mathilde Laurent

Cartier exclusive perfume

What scents remind you of this season?

From Corsica, I was very impressed by the scents of immortelle from the maquis and the lentisk. I have in me the smell of the river very close to the small mountain village where I have friends and where I spend my summers. This water takes the scent of everything it touches: stones, earth, plants, vegetables, fruits like figs… These are all the feelings I wanted to created the collection Rivières, three scents with plants, water and fresh air. .

How do you perfume yourself in the summer?

That’s when I don’t do it anymore, so I find it fun to wear perfume just for me. I take in my perfume box that I like and I see again, like Eau de Parfum, by Helmut Lang.

Aromatic language?

Do what you want, allow yourself everything and don’t expect to put in something called “summer”. The main thing is to have fun. If you want to keep your favorite perfume but lighten it, bring it light, I like this sensory technique: you decorate yourself with pleasure, then you take a shower with a product without fragrance . Then the scent stays on the skin. Another option: add two scents of your favorite perfume one or two citrus scents like cologne (lemon, bergamot…).

HIS NEW WORK

Like river water bathed in lentisk, rosemary, ferns and wild plants. Eau de Toilette, Rivières Luxuriance, Cartier, €111 for 100 ml.

Camille Goutal

Perfumer at Maison Goutal and founder of Voyages Imaginaires

What scents remind you of this season? Ambre Solaire cream struck me, like many, with a hot iron. Basil and rosemary are strongly associated with my childhood memories. In Aix, at my grandfather’s house, large pots of basil were always placed behind the windows. With the sun beating down, the house stinks. Rosemary is on my mother’s side. I like to add the unknown elements of the colorless rosemary root to my creations. Otherwise, I have a preference for the so-called date of tiare, coconut, frangipani, monoi scents, which I did a lot in Le Grand Jeu for Voyages Imaginaires, in kind of. I can wear them all year round.

How do you perfume yourself in the summer? I use a little perfume on vacation, because I don’t want to increase my bags, so I do a two-in-one with the moisturizer, to clean my skin and make it beautiful. it. I love scented water gels, like the one with Eau de Tiare by Klorane.

The perfect summer scent? Eau d’Hadrien, by Goutal, is fresh and sparkling, perfect when you want something light and easy. Personally, I love to smell Dior’s Eau Sauvage.

HIS NEW WORK

In addition, a high level of garden, tuberose, coconut milk and vanilla. Eau de Parfum, Le Grand Jeu, Imaginary Voyages, €190 for refillable 75 ml bottles.

Master Perfumer at IFF

What scents remind you of this season? The scents of sunscreens are vectors of thought and – best of all – memory. They are associated with holidays, the sea, the sun. There’s that Ambre Solaire, of course, but I’m thinking above all the fragrances of the Nivea Solaire cream, which I posted. And there are neroli and other orange blossom notes, which immediately throw us into summer, like Girl, by Rochas, a fresh and bright fragrance.

How do you perfume yourself in the summer?

I really like the name Basil & Neroli, by Jo Malone. Fresh and delicious, a duo that works well. It’s very uplifting and relaxing, because it’s not a bad smell. Goes well with skin and texture. In fact, I wear it all year round, every time I need to relax, to do some kind of vacuum. It allows me to find something I love and stop thinking about all the things I need to do.

The perfect summer scent?

Eau de Rochas is a perfect summer perfume. It’s light but not overwhelming, it’s a natural scent. At Frédéric Malle, Cologne Bigarade, by Jean-Claude Ellena, and Cologne Indélébile, by Dominique Ropion, are strong, elegant colognes worn in the evening.

HIS NEW WORK

A scent of neroli with soothing ingredients and an eco-designed product, from the water to the bottle. Eau de Toilette, Girl, Rochas, €69 for 60 ml.

Sonia Constant

Perfumer at Givaudan and founder of Ella K fragrances

What scents remind you of this season?

The acacias and pines are associated with my holidays with my grandparents, in La Baule. Also present, among the cards from the shops of Avenue Louis-Lajarrige, a small leather scent, mixed with hints of flowers… And, of course, the salicylated notes of Ambre Solaire . In Reflet sur l’Okavango, by Ella K, inspired by the trip to Botswana, I worked in this style, connected with the honey tone of the acacia, which I found in Africa in a different way before of La Baule! Another style, in Le Beau, by Jean Paul Gaultier, I slipped into a coconut without flavor, reminding me of the coconut water you drink on a trip to the beach.

How do you perfume yourself in the summer?

In the morning, I appreciate new things and get motivated. In Ella K, I like Poème de Sagano (shiso, grapefruit, green tea). In the evening, I like to wear other ways, like Rose de Pushkar, a rose oud. I’ve never wanted anything more “cool” than summer!

Aromatic language?

Avoid perfumed cosmetics, such as Esthederm sunscreen products. I really like to leave their oil in the hair, because it lasts for a long time, like Huile Prodigieuse by Nuxe, which releases a very good scent. On the other hand, I prefer to perfume myself with oils rather than eau de toilette made from these herbs.

HIS NEW WORK

Celebrating the lands of Botswana, it is a scent of sun, powder, wood and honey. Eau de Parfum, Reflections on the Okavango, Ella K, €195 for 70 ml.

Christine Nagel

The exclusive perfume from Hermès

What scents remind you of this season?

Salicylates, sun notes I associate with the Solar Ambre of childhood and remind me of the joy and freedom of summer, the laughs, the family times. A fresh basil leaf and tomato leaf, bring back the comfort of the big plates in the countryside. Twilly Eau Ginger contains Salicylates, they bring out the watery, shiny side. Also, don’t we say that the person who shines is the sun?

How do you perfume yourself in the summer?

I use spices that I make all year round. So when I’m on vacation, I go back and use colognes more often, like the ones from Hermès. I like these perfumes, but the ways to work with them: big bottles that you use to rub with your hands.

The perfect summer scent?

L’Eau d’Orange Verte, by Hermès, was created in 1979. With its chypre base, it was one of the first colognes with lasting power. It is a fragrance that crosses borders and ages. So many people tell me about it… I want to do it! But I don’t think it’s reserved for summer or when summer makes you feel comfortable. The important thing is that everyone has a scent that makes them happy.

HIS NEW WORK

Peony, frankincense and cedarwood radiate light energy. Eau de Parfum, Twilly Eau Ginger, Hermès, €65 for 30 ml.

Marie Salamagne

Perfumer in Firmenich

What scents remind you of this season?

Salty skin, an end-of-the-day mix of spicy, watery notes and monoi oil. I translated this idea in Beach Walk, by Maison Martin Margiela, for example. There is also the smell of white flowers, like jasmine, which I saw as a child when I walked, especially in the evening after a long day, combining addiction and the palate, a scent that combines sweetness and joie de vivre. I give a vision of it in Histoire d’Orangers, by L’Artisan Parfumeur.

How do you perfume yourself in the summer?

During the day, with the conditioner I use to clean my hair. In the evening, after my shower, with a splash of cologne. This summer job is mine, full of joy. A classic that inspired me, in 2007, the Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic, by Guerlain. I like soaps with wood and vetiver or stimulating tones like green tea.

Aromatic language?

Use body lotion or eau de toilette, a more fresh and airy version than eau de parfum. Also remember to smell your hair, leaving behind a veil of your scent.

The perfect summer scent?

For its modern beauty, Eau Sauvage, by Dior, although it is not a summer fragrance.

HIS NEW WORK

The mandarin and lance reinforce the rose and musks. Eau de Parfum, L.12.12 Rose, Lacoste, €35 for 35 ml.
